Typical what’s the latest and greatest cold water line out there.

Anyone find anything new? Maybe an oldie they reformulated?

Been switching brands all over the place this summer. ADD on line I guess, have Berkeley xl, sensation, and magnathin on setups now. Love the limpness of XL and Elite monos but the sensitivity ain’t there IMO.

Love the sensation and typically switch everything over to that but she gets a lil stiff in the cold. Does that Reel Magic stuff compromise the line in anyway? Thought of trying that.

I agree Sensation gets a little stiff in the cold, but I still prefer it over most other monos. I use either Sensation or Suffix Elite. I really loved the old Mustad Thor mono….

X2 on the Suffix Elite. It gets a little squirrelly when the temp is in the 30’s, but it’s still managable. Good knot strength, etc.

I’ve been using the yellow stuff on P2 for a few years now and it’s been working OK for me.

P-Line CX Premium is the only way to go. Low stretch and very strong.

I’m a fan of sensation and like the reel magic for sub-freezing temps. I haven’t noticed any problems with the line after using it.

I agree that’s a very nice line, felt in the cold though it was far worse than Sensation in the wireness.

Glad you brought that up, I did like it much until it got real cold, maybe some Sensation and CXX with Reel Magic needs to be tested out this fall.

Haven’t had any nights yet where the rodtip starts freezing, so optimal bite window for me isn’t quite there yet. woot
