Did very well last week on crappies-they didn’t get going until the shallows warmed up. then you had to get very close to shore with your presentation. This week I’m going to a lake the hopefully has some bigger fish and will just do C&R. Going to be cold and cloudy. So will fish be at the bottom of shallow basins or just buried in the same areas that you find them when its warm and sunny? Would you also downsize? Kinda stuck fishing in the morning this weekend. Thanks

I wanna go-should be a great day, I have to work. BM should be fun, bass and pike that will keep you busy if crappies are being shy. Good Luck

Big Marine was good today. Not so much for size, but numbers were good. I was in a secluded area (if you crappie fish this lake you know where I’m talking about) and the males were there but I don’t think the females have moved up yet. Water temps in the main lake were 45-48 and where I was it was 50-52. Caught about 15 crappie with an 11 incher being the biggest. Also caught a few bass and the elusive Big Marine walleye on a crappie tube in 2 ft of water. Still probably a week before it goes off but there are fish to be caught. Some on docks, most around wood or isolated shallow pencil reeds.

Have fished there 20yrs have maybe caught 5 no maybe 4 walleyes. Have never caught anything big in that secluded area but you just have to go there-fun lake, glad you had a good trip.
