Short cold day report. Got weathered out Sunday and Monday but made it out today. Caught more slot fish then keepers but an awesome day on the water. The picture of client was a double 25″s, we must have caught at least 15 slot fish. First pick is kind of funny but had to go to work!!

Is that snow or frost? What method are you using to catch your fish?

It is a mix of snow, ice and frost. I am jigging shiners, 1/8 8 to 10ft. Water temps were 52 on the big lake. Bait guy said shiners will be gone by mid week.

Yea its hard to find the shiners up here. Looks like you enjoyed the cool weather. Have you caught any on Rainbows? I know a lot of people out the resort have been using them catching fish.

I salute any and all who put in their time yesterday morning…and was very happy to be shore bound within reach of the wood stove–in my old age. Been there done that too many times in the past 50 plus years…lol

Good Leech Lake conditions today though—calm, sunny and luke warm (my favorite!). Can’t wait–but will wait until it warms up around 10 am.

Good report and even better job Mr. Wilson!
