1) I don’t have any issues with people that struggle backing.
2) I don’t have any issues with people struggling to get there boat on or off the trailer.
I’ll lend a helping hand on any of these issues.
My problem is when someone doesn’t clear the way in a timely fashion. That’s boat ramp etiquette 101 pure and simple.
I was there and saw what lifer31 saw. Those 2 older guys were just down right piggy!
I’ve helped many people at the launch. Getting the boat out seems to be a bigger problem than getting the boat in. Only once when I offered advice politely on getting the boat loaded i got told to “pi$$ off”. My advice was I told him he had the trailer to deep. Fenders were about 12 inches under water. He was wading around up to his thighs trying to hold the boat straight while the wife pulled up the ramp. He said he had been loading boats this way for twenty years. All I could do was walk away and stand off to the side and laugh. That really ticked him off.
My question is, don’t some of these people watch how guys do it and it only takes them like 3 minutes? Watch and learn. It’s not that hard.
You see single guys that take a couple extra minutes but if I’m available I’ll give a hand. I don’t think most guys/gals at a boat launch come there to tick people off. I know I don’t hit the water in a bad mood that’s for sure! It means I’m not working. Yippee!
