Here in Itasca County still snow on the ice, 16-17 inches of ice. Maybe 5 inches of snow. ATV travel good

Had the opposite issue here on Red, had to move the portable to get out of the 6 inches of water pouring up my hole, getting a bit slushy in all the snow out here…

Cleats. But I busted one last night. Not easy with only one.

Cleats. A few years ago I went without, feet went out from under me and mashed the back of my head on the ice. Ended up knocked out, with a concussion and took a trip to the emergency room.

Cleats today for the two of us definitely. Amazing how well they do on soft surface ice.

    Guys over aways were slipping.

Haven’t went a ton, but wore my yaktrax today. Things were soft enough on the top that it really wasn’t slick, rather slushy. If we do get a night again with a hard freeze they’ll be a 100% necessity the next morning

Back to my Korker boots with studs. Getting a little bit slick out there.

I made it out on the lake today just fine without, but by mid-morning, I put some on.

I actually bought a snowboard helmet. Cleats don’t seem to be a sure thing.

I never take my cleats off of my boots. I ride to and from the lake in crocks.

Cleats, they were handy yesterday on the lake.

Same. They are great boots but a real pita to get off.

Cleats for traction and safety. One little slip can ruin the entire season or worse.

I watched my kid fall 4 times yesterday without cleats because he was to lazy to put them on. He then put them on and was golden. It is slick. And he was being stubborn so I let him learn the hard way.

Cheats yesterday for me. Well I always use cheats. One can just walk so much faster with them and I had my uncle slip and hit his head. They also get your feet a little off the ice and they stay warmer. Not that we needed it yesterday.

Cleats wait until you get a dusting of snow and you have to walk back without cleats. NOT FUN lol

My Kahtoola Micro Spikes are left on my Baffins pretty much all year. But they are real nice when there’s no snow on the ice.
