It was a little windy last night, 25-35 with gusts to 45mph, so we were forced into fishing the easy side of the island. Quite a few sublegal fish are now being caught, with some keepers mixed in. We had 16 walleyes and 2 were legal, until about 8:15 when they finally cut loose. In the last 45 minutes, we landed the rest of our limit, plus through back 2 legal fish. Ended up with around 40 walleyes, 8 of them legal, and 10 yellow bass. The walleyes were all from 15-16 inches, so nothing out of the ordinary, but I did get this one monster Yellow Bass, the biggest I have ever caught at just a shade over 12 inches. Again fishing a jig with minnow produced best, although some guys were using jigs and plastic and catching fish. The wind limited everyone down to about 200 yards of fishing, and with air temps in the low 40s, nobody stayed more than a couple hours. Only a couple of the fish were still milking, so Im assuming the spawn is about wrapped up…
