Started out this morning only to find out my trailer lights had a short in it But it was a easy fix. We unloaded the boat around 7:30am. Wind was out of the NE so we headed to the south shoreline. Drifted pulling minnows and caught around 20 yellows. Decided to try some trolling and that decission paid off. Trolled the whole south shore of the lake the rest of the day. Water temp was 55 degress. Put out the first line and before I could get the next one out, wife says “fish on” . She got that one in and it was to short. Put that line back out and again “fish on” , another to short. So, that told me what lure they wanted, #5 shad rap in shad color. We caught about 30 walleyes in the 13.5″-13.75″ threw the day. But of course, the wife managed to grab the rods with the keepers. She caught one that was 19″ and another that was 20″ . Nice health fat walleyes. Went to take pics, but the camera batteries were dead. Was a beautiful day on the water. We caught everything in the depths of 7′-8′ range. Trolling speed was 1.8-2.0. They are on fire, so get out and have some fun

Joe, I told the wife the same thing about how next year they will be over 14″. Yesterday there was a Muskie Tourney going on. Alot of boats to zig zag around, which can be a good thing when trolling. Change the lure speeds and direction

My wife and I fished the Musky tourney. We got blanked, as well as 90% of the field. All of the fish caught (8) were caught up by the grade. We stayed in the main lake and threw everything we had at them, as well as trolling but to no avail. Around 1:00 we decided to put on the walleye divers and catch fish, hoping to maybe get lucky and catch a stray musky as well. We ended up with 36 walleyes, most just under 14″, but we had a 22, 19, and a couple 16’s as well. The walleyes made the day turn out well, even without catching any muskies. We mainly trolled the north end, 10-12 foot of water.

Mike, sounded like it was a good walleye day all over the lake.
