Had my little club’s tournament Sunday. There wasn’t any mystery about where the fish were biting, just look for the cluster of boats on every reef. When is it gonna blow some wind? I like those sunny days, but not in mid-April. Give me some 3 foot rollers to weed out the weak and I’d be happy. The yellow bass are in and aggressive, must have caught 20 of those by accident. Lots of little walleyes were caught with the winner being almost 21 inches.

Hey John, any musky? I heard they have been catching a lot of 12-14 inch walleyes. Has the cycle come around again? Buddy called Sunday and said he fished Brushy Friday night and Sat. with no luck on eye’s. When are you guys heading back over there?

Hey Clayfish, Glad to see you back on the site. I didn’t see any muskie caught, but I did 2 weeks ago. Nothing too big, but I always bring a muskie rod to cast when the eyes shut down. Whoever retreives my bullhead looking swimbait from the top of the tree on the north end of the island, please return it to me, the big esox. It’s amazing how far you can throw a 2 oz lure when you’re used to pitching a 1/16th oz jig. Lots of 12-14 inchers. The yellows look to be running pretty good sized this year and they were in too. If I had the tourney to do over, I’d set my trolling motor at about 40% and pitch shoreline wherever there are rocks after about 9:00 a.m. especially where there aren’t any other fisherman. This damn 70 degrees and sunny is for the birds, give me rollers and rain.

I agree, it’s way too warm. As for the wind, there has been plenty of that down here. Sounds like Clear Lake is back, after a couple year lull.
