It’s a wonderful life.
I always get welled up at the end.
They just dont make em like that anymore.
Love Uecker in that movie. Some of my all time comedy favorites: young Frankenstein, blazing saddles.
“You may run like Mays but you hit like….”
Second best baseball movie behind sandlot.
“Heywood leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair.”
Bob Uecker has the best throwaway lines in that movie.
Sandlot is classic, but I liked my war movies. Hot shots is tough to beat for it’s actor performances
We watched “Trading Places” with Eddie Murphy, Dan Akroyd & Jamie Lee Curtis last week.
It too is a classic and I’m surprised that there hasn’t been protests to ban it yet- because of the absolutely hilarious & non PC lines.

Funny thing on the war movies… the other night I watched Where Eagles Dare. Last time I saw it was 4th grade and it was as good as I remembered!

Guns of Navarron was also good.

You mean like Blazing Saddles?

“I think he said the sheriff is near.”
Classic.
Grouse
Bob Uecker is the best. I love driving through Wisconsin during the summer just to listen to him on the Brewers broadcast on WTMJ.
“Dorn didn’t get much of a jump on that ball. At least he didn’t spike himself.”
Uecker—-1 god dam lousy hit?
You can’t say that on the radio!
Hell nobody’s listening anyway.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen Major League… I think I should remedy that soon, eh? I have 475 DVDs (seriously!) and yet I don’t OWN Major League.
Speaking of war movies I watched Flags of Our Fathers in the fish house Thursday night up on Red. Tried to watch Letters From Iwo Jima but it’s not a fish house movie as you have to read sub titles. So I switched to Hacksaw Ridge. Wednesday night was Johnny Carson dvd’s and Friday night I worked my way through 3 of the dvd’s from Gunsmoke The 50th Anniversary Edition box set. Still at least 3 left I think.
Three classics I watch
Jeremiah Johnson
Mountain Men
Full Metal Jacket
they brought their friggn toys with them!! whaddya do,trade a used puck bag for them??

If you have Amazon Prime it streams free on there.
Every winter we watch: grumpy old men, Home alone 1&2, planes trains and automobiles, new in town, and need to work Fargo into the rotation.
Every spring: grumpier old men, great out doors, sand lot
they brought their friggn toys with them!! whaddya do,trade a used puck bag for them??
That’s a classic!
“The soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window.”
Leg lamp in the window, tounge on a frozen post and your going to shoot your eye out with Santa pushing you down a slide with his boot are timeless.
Like Harvey
and Arsinec and Lace.
I’ll take Slap shot and strange Brew over the show with the wild thing any day for post classic sport shows. I’m not a big hockey fan.
