Looking to build a clamp style mount for the stock livescope pole.

If there are examples on the Garmin Thread I must have missed it. I did see one built from a C Clamp and I have some ideas of my own that I would try but was hoping I could get pics from people with more experience.

I would be using this on an older Alumacraft Boat that does not have any type of track system.

    Thanks in advance.

MK Transom mount trolling motor bracket p/n 2991815A

It’s solid to about 4 MPH and starts to wobble faster than that.

Bmx frame holder. 39 bucks on Amazon. Holds as sturdy as any. And more sturdy then the 390 dollar units

I think he’s looking for something clamp-on, not bolt or screw on. At least that’s how I took it. No doubt the permanent mount will be more sturdy, though.

Yup, that’s my bad. I though he was asking for ideas due to no rail or track system

Hard to help without seeing a pic of where you want to clamp to. Do you have a wide gunnel or is it narrow like on BC’s boat above?

If it’s wider, I’d buy a 12” section of track and then you have a wide variety of options. Ram Mounts makes all the parts you need for a clamp system. If you have a narrow gunnel Ram makes a clamp that might fit onto it. I use the Ram clamp to connect to my rail and it’s amazing how much clamping force they have.

Here’s a pic on my summit pole to give you some idea.

I’ll see if they have part numbers but it’s C size clamps and balls. The double sided clamp is 6”.

You can buy the claw style ram mount from fleet farm. I have it and use it on the front of my boat on the rail that is attached to my gunnel. In the back I purchased a bolt on ram ball and fastened it to the gunnel. This is all attached to the summit pole. Its not the most sturdy setup if I am being honest, but it works. I purchased the double socket ram arm off ebay and it looks like it was the following: Ram Mounts RAM-201U Short Double Socket Arm for 1.5-Inch Ball Bases

MK Transom mount trolling motor bracket p/n 2991815A

It’s solid to about 4 MPH and starts to wobble faster than that.

This looks perfect. You can use any pole with this then I am guessing?

Do you think this would work on the side of the boat as well or just off the back?

I used a stick of 3/4″ schedule 40 for the pole.

Yeah I use it on the side mostly but like that I can easily move it anywhere in the boat, including the transom for trolling.
