Clam Sled Runner Options

Bought a used Clam flipover that doesn’t have runners installed on the bottom of the base. $99 for Clam Hyfax kit seems a bit steep… Any other ideas for a lower cost option that will protect the tub? I don’t have an ATV or snow machine so mostly concerned about walking out to fish and sliding unit around on concrete between trips.

    Thanks

i use cheap used downhill or cross country skis and and bolt them to the bottom. you can find them at goodwill pretty cheap

That’s what made me question the Clam price; every other brand seems to be considerably cheaper. Planning on making a Smitty Sled for fishing so the tub runner system seems to be overkill.

Will continue to check out options. Have a plastics engineer in mind that might have a few ideas.

    Thanks

I see the Shappell for $35 but only has 3 runners. Clam is $50 for 6. I know someone with the Clam ones on his shack. They fit/work perfect.
