I have a clam legend XL and i have always had to dink around getting the pins to go in the holes when popping it open. Last year I marked the poles so I knew where to stop, as I was always going past the holes and the pin would pop out past the end of the tube. and then I even put a line on the pole so I could see where the hole was. Today before I folded it up to go fishing(I had it opened up in a heated garage to dry it off) I pulled the rods apart one at a time, and took a dremel tool with a little cutter on it and ground out the holes to make an oval shape, making the hole wider horizontally. Basically the little chinamen didnt drill the holes on top inline with the holes on the bottom so i was constantly having to twist each hoop back and forth to get the pin to “pop” into the hole. NO MORE! now I just pull up and they pop right in like they should! Just an FYI if anyone else has the same problem
