The B FISH N Tackle “Big Fish” thread is off to a great start so I thought “why not add a Custom Jigs version too?” Of course we’ll need to create a separate thread for Granrud to post all the big fish he catches on Lightning Spoons in a winter….

Here’s my first contribution for 2011. December 10th if memory serves. Caught this big girl on a 1/8th Oz. Gold Glow Slender Spoon in 8.5 feet of water right in the middle of the day.

Don’t hesitate to post your own. Panfish to pike… I know I’m a sucker for a pic of a big fish!

This one was an “oops” fish being that it hit a 1/16th Oz. Slender Spoon fished on 2# line while targeting bluegills and crappies.

Was that a boat moving across the shot in the background? I noticed it when you slammed that monster walter chronchite.

Yes. That’s an ice cutter. Makes some pretty crazy waves under the ice that will make a guy pucker a little the first time it is experienced.

Here is Tucker’s first walleye for the 2011/12 ice season caught up at the Daze Camp using a 1/8 oz. lightning spoon She was caught right around 11 am . Not exactly what you would think is prime time ,but with Rainy’s stained water you never know She was 28 right on the button and still alive and kickin

#10 “Zebra” gill pill. My biggest gill of the 2011 ice season, so far. I’m hoping this is the year I find a 10 incher.

27″es and smaller than her cousin I had to the hole only moments earlier. 1/4oz Gold plated B3 blade bait – my #1 big fish bait throughout the winter, especially on Lake of the Woods.

Well it turns out there is a Santa…I was rewarded my personal best gill on christmas eve. Caught on a white diamond (glow brite) jig with a purple nuggie. Measured over 11″.

    Monster! Nice!

I really like your pic ’cause it actually looks like a big gill and not a 25″ Halibut that is bigger than your head

Thanks. I was shocked when I pulled this fish out of the hole as it was in a class all by itself.

It was luck Joel, the jig had that pike stuck right in the tip of the nose!

I can believe there was a little bit of luck involved with landing a fish of that size but there also was a good amount of skill involved as well. Otherwise, I know you would still be talking about the big one that got away…..again.
