Christmas ideas?

Ladies and Gents I need some help. What do you get an outdoorsman that has everything? He is the type if he wants it he buys it. So that doesn’t make buying for him easy at all. Usually I can do a fine job because we have so much in common. But we are both at a point where we don’t “need” anything.

When in doubt – get them something they can eat. Even the outdoorsman who has everything needs something to eat and it doesn’t take up clutter space. Maybe some game mean that they don’t typically eat (I got some moose steaks as a gift once and it was awesome!) Or maybe a package of fancy steaks with a new grilling seasoning for the grillmaster. Or for those who like to make soups this time of year you could do some of those Bear Creek soup mixes and then some new mixing bowls to go with it. waytogo

High end filet, chef’s or buck knife is always appreciated imo, and one of those things that you can’t have too many of. Otherwise Scheels gift cards are always welcome in my wallet.

I have a vast selection of stuff and the two things I appreciate the most and our easy to overlook is an otter sled and on of the small battery packs that can jump a car, a nice tow strap. just some ideas.

I like the tow strap and battery jumper ideas even though I have them, but it would be nice to have them in multiple vehicles and I only have them in one.

This is why Thanksgiving is way better. No gift nonsense. Just food and football.

High end pocket knife is my favorite gift. New Benchmade? A new edc knife is always awesome. My lady friend complains about this same thing.

All I want for Christmas is to see my family & friends be happy. It sounds like the person you may be shopping for is the same.

I like to focus on gifting “experiences” versus “stuff” as I get older. Some of my favorite gifts I’ve ever given:
    -hiring half-day guides
    -top shelf bottle of booze
-plane tickets or $ towards a vacation
    -lift tickets
    -tickets to a football game
    -booked dinner and drinks somewhere
    -paid for professional family photos
-gift certificates for new trees and then planted them too
-hired fertilizer/weed treatment for their lawn
    -pre-made homemade meals
    -wife’s baked goods

Ideas? Go to Amazon and click on the link to “Black Friday Deals” or type Christmas “Gift Ideas” in the search bar. Pages and Pages of “Stuff” you might not think of. Stuff I don’t need but want – LOL !

Does he have a 4 stroke outboard ? Oil change kit or maintenance kit for that make and model. A dealer should be able to help you.

    An extension cord…

…from the cord reel you hang on your garage ceiling plugged into the only open socket in your garage! Reach up and pull – instant extension cord!

I agree on the charges…the Noco charges are really nice.

Weathertec makes a really nice car wash bucket kit. That’s a good gift. Weathertec has a ton of cool stuff like bump steps, phone holders, etc.

Ram mounts make some nice phone mounts for in the boat.

Aftco and Grundens have some good clothing that is kinda unique. Aftco has a hoodie with built in neck gator that’s really nice.

You can always buy a Scheels gift card…boring but I love getting GC’s so I can just buy what I want.

Last would be a donation to the Human Fund in his name. Who gets that reference?

Does he like the show Yellowstone?
They have some neat things on their website store.

Another thing could be some Goldbacks and a Goldback wallet.

My parents are in their 80s and winter in Florida. I finally discovered that a package from Omaha Steaks is actually appreciated.

When I was a younger man living in Omaha I did telemarketing for Omaha Steaks around the holidays. Pay was great and it was inbound orders so pretty low stress. The steaks were good but the hot dogs are where it’s at. Nothing wrong with a tube steak for Christmas.

Does he do his own deer processing??

One off-the-wall idea that every hunter should be given at birth is a jerky slicer… seriously peace

    Ammo is a nice gift.

Here is something I have suffered without my whole life and I plan on buying one next week because its on sale. I have always just cleaned my firearms anywhere. More specifically on our basement bar. The best I ever came up with was a felt pad. Not anymore! Im getting this gun vise next week for 40% off. $55 However the bug-salt-gun sounds pretty frigging cool too!

Or if he’s a lover of fine crafted meats – go around to a few reputable meat markets and pick up some sticks, jerky, summer sausage, etc. Make it kind of a sampler pack – I’ve found my favorite meat markets/products from getting gifts like that. Plus you’re supporting small local businesses.

Speaking of Ram, I received a call from Sales guy at DOB telling me that you can now order the 2025 HD’s. I swung on in and started the order. It lasted 1 minute – Tungsten not available in HD. flame flame flame

Array of BBQ sauces and rubs

OTF Knife (Grinworx has the “Lighting Elite” on a good sale right now. Nothing flashy but I’ve had a couple for over 5 years and they work great to this day. Simple tasks, not heavy duty battoning or anything, but are handy.

    Rhino tow strap (stretchy)

    Rhino auto retracable ratchet straps

Flashlight *See my string on the subject )
