I baked a Pecan Pie Cheesecake that will probably be the highlight of the dinning tomorrow. The meal will be tri tip, smoked mac & cheese and grilled asparagus.

Tonight is crock pot pork chops in mushroom gravy over noodles.

That sounds delicious! How do you cook the tri tip? I also make a crock pot meal of pork chops over mushroom gravy and pour that over noodles but truth be told my gravy is usually just a can of cambells mushroom soup. Would love to get your recipe

Crappie, tri tip marinated overnight and grilled to 135, sliced ultra thin. I like making French Dip sandwiches with it as well.

I grew up on turkey and ham and only learned about cooking a huge prime rib at home after I moved to the Midwest and got married.

Christmas and/or new years is always prime rib now.

Wagyu sirloins grilled. Pear and blue cheese salad. Roasted Brussels sprouts with crispy bacon. Homemade peppermint ice cream cake for dessert.

And about a hundred beers. Start with a good double ipa about noon as we’re getting food ready, then crush a few keystones, then finish with a lighter mosaic ipa and some fireball on the rocks.

Growing up our family tradition was always lutefisk and Swedish meatballs… Since having children and having my own family our tradition is to cook venison burgundy over wild rice using my grandma’s beef burgundy recipe. I love making wild game a part of our family tradition and it makes me very happy how much my boys enjoy and appreciate eating from nature’s grocery as well!

We did carry out from Beirut in West St Paul this year. The mezza, which is awesome. My wife is like 15% Lebanese but we’re 100% into the Lebanese food.

Due to Covid concerns we are not seeing family this year. A few members of the family have seafood allergies so since it is just Ma and I we are did King Crab legs last night and will do Lobster tails tonight.

    Merry Christmas everyone

Paulbeck’s in Aitkin had a big seafood sale so I loaded up.

Last night Christmas eve I started off with snow crab and lobster tail.

New Year’s eve, the last day of 2020 I’ll celebrate with the King crab legs and seared deep sea scallops.

Today, Christmas day I still have options. Whatever I decide I’m thankful for everything.

Lutefisk is always a Christmas Eve tradition with the extended family. This year was no different for our immediate family, except we went with hand harvested wild rice from this fall rather than the usual mashed potatoes. Heck, with fewer people I got to enjoy more of the lutefisk myself. I guess that’s the silver lining of not being able to celebrate together as one large family.

    Merry Christmas to you all

Christmas Eve is always on the lighter side for us. It’s usually homemade soup from scratch, homemade bread, a salad, and some wine of the

For my wife’s side of the immediate family we have racks of ribs, broasted garlic parmesan jumbo shrimp, homemade spicy Mac n cheese, cornbread muffins and quite a few assorted craft beers.

For my side of the immediate family it is the seafood spread with king crab, lobster tails, scallops, shrimp, sweet corn, and red potatoes. This side of the family is far more into liquor and sampling different bourbons and such. It’s crazy how the Crown Royal seems to just disappear throughout the cooking process.

Wow. Some of you guys go all out. Just lutefisk and swedish meatballs here. Of course the meatballs are venison, or rain deer as we used to tell the kids.

Thielen’s Garlic Polish Venison sausage, chicken wild rice casserole and candied walnut balsamic salad last night per Christmas Eve tradition. Prime Rib this afternoon, and best part my brother and his wife doing all the cooking! Merry Christmas!

I’m going to steal the rain deer thing. Thats awesome and it’ll be enough to get the kids in a slight uproar that they always put me in
