Really? I haven’t heard that at all, but then I thought Denver might draft a QB and they didn’t.

    I like the Pats pick.

he gets to sit behind scam newton and learn nothing. these statue QB’S are not the future of the league.

back to the topic at hand, lots of steam that Arodge is headed to Denver as early as tonight?

Just because Rodgers threw his rattle up against the wall doesn’t mean its gonna happen. Gutey made it pretty clear Rodgers is not getting traded. With the current cap hit in trading him it wont happen til after this next season. Its always been that way. Look at the cap hit numbers. Like I said earlier Gutey is playing his hand best. Maybe next year Arod.

Arodge is in a new place in life. he has a new squeeze on the west coast and wants to do more Jeopardy. i think he forces his way out or retires. i dont have the twitter machine but Leber sent out some bread crumbs. Schlereth says its a done deal too FWIW

I’m slightly optimistic with Darrisaw being available at 23. If the Vikes truly weren’t ever going to go QB (which inherently means they’re looking more at win now vs. build for future) this could end up resulting ok, depending on what they do with the rest of their picks.

Vikings just did a great job. Darrisaw is who I wanted at 14 and we got him along with 2 extra picks at 23

It doesn’t look too bad now. I’ll admit most of my anger was because of the amazing, doesn’t-happen-every-year opportunity at QB, since we can hardly afford Cousins now and certainly won’t after 2 more years (I’m not a Cousins hater either).

Getting past that, it shapes up to be pretty good o-line value at that pick and the extra 3rd rounders may help.

looks like the Ravens decided to row the boat with Bateman. another great pick and going to help Lamar big time. was hoping he would fall to round 2 even tho it is not a position of need for the queens.

Packers select some help for Erin….??? Oh wait no they don’t. Another cornerback.

The Packers took the best player available that fit a big need just like the Vikings.

The Packers have the best wr in the league, one of the best running backs, a very good tight end, two all pro offensive linemen. Rodgers has protection and plenty of weapons. The draft is not decided in the first round and the depth of the draft plays into there needs on offense- wide receiver and o-line depth. I sure they’ll do just fine.

Whoa whoa whoa, Davante Adams is not the best WR in the league. Tyreek Hill is. You could make the argument that a couple other WRs are also statistically better than Adams too.

I would rank Aaron Jones top 10 in RB. Not in the top 3.

Tonyan had a good season. He’s looks good but a bigger sample size is needed.

I’ll give you the credit on the two lineman.

I agree the draft is not decided in the first round. My point was more that it could have gone a long way to repairing repairing apparent rift by drafting a weapon for Erin instead of ignoring the offense like they always do. On TV they showed it but I think it’s been since like 1966 that the packers drafted a skill position player in the 1st rd. And yes adams is a very good WR but the other WRs on the roster wouldn’t even make the roster in most other NFL teams and are only minutely productive because of how great rodgers is.

I’m taking the “I’ll wait and see attitude,” God knows how reporters can take a rumor and take it and run, It maybe true, but until we hear from Rodgers himself, I’ll wait and see.

Rodgers is rightfully upset, they haven’t done anything to try and put them over the top in the NFC Championship games in order to add another ring. That is how QB’s are judged so it will reflect on his overall career. They have never taken a WR in the first 2 rounds of the draft since they picked Devante Adams in 2014. Since then they have taken 8 Defensive Backs in the first 2 rounds, and are still looking to shore up the back end of the defense.

As for the Vikes I thought that was well done again by Slick Rick, got a day 1 starter at position of most need, while adding some ammo to get back into the 2nd round. With 4 3rd rounders and 3 4th rounders, I expect him to be very busy moving around again today.

I stand corrected. Adams did in fact have a better season than Tyreek Hill. However, Stefon Diggs led the league. So statistically speaking, Diggs was the best WR in the game last season.

Ultimately the Packers reached for their pick, an athletic CB that lack cover ability, in the 1st round. Heard this story before. And if Rodgers is miffed, and its not all smoke, then this didn’t nothing but add fuel to the fire.

As for trading Rodgers, the Pack is best suited to wait until June 1 to make that trade. Before June, his $30+M would be dead money on the cap, after June 1st, roughly half of that rolls to 2022, so they save like $15M in dead cap money this year. Personally, I think he is gone in June, too much smoke not to be some fire.

As for the Vikes, and Spielman in particular, he got crazy lucky this time trading down. If the hopeless Raiders don’t make a bonehead pick of a OL that should have gone late in the 2nd round and take Darrishaw like they should have, they would have been left with a mediocre pick at best. Good for Spielman I guess, may help him keep his job for one more year.

But I think the Lions (Sewell) and Bears (Feilds) both got significant players. Vikes did the best they could have. And the Pack – screwed up again….

Matt Ryan, going on 36 years of age with statistics dropping

Falcons Front Office on the phone:

“Matty – Let’s get you a 6’6″ 245# TE that runs faster than most WRs at the top of the draft to pair with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. He makes this offense elite and we trust you can carry us.”

Aaron Rodgers, 37 years old and coming off another MVP

Packers Front Office on the phone:

“Aaron Buddy – We’ve got our eyes on a couple undrafted TE’s and practice squad WRs that we think you could make into pro bowlers. Please consider restructuring your contract as a way of saying thank you for our efforts. We’ve got to go, Jordan Love is on the other line wondering if he will get to wear shoulder pads this year. See ya’ soon! Go Pack Go”

Parkers have one of the elite quarterbacks in the league but it has turned into a drama queen fest. You can’t pay him more money then he already gets, he wants talent around him and they (management) won’t do it. grin

The hole division is watching the drama hoping Love is the guy. Hey, maybe Teddy comes over from Denver!

As far as the Bears go……….about the only guy Fields won’t end up being a backup to got shipped to Buffalo. Another in a long list of OSU quarterbacks who fail in the NFL.

Vikings will be able to draft their future quarterback next year, they will have the same mid draft position as always.

If either Micah Parsons or Rashawn Slater would have still been available I doubt that the Vikings would have Traded back. Once they were both off the board I think the Vikings made a great decision ( That’s something I don’t say often )
They have so many needs that I think getting the extra picks will turn out being a great decision.

For my sake? I just don’t get the stat you posted. It has to be considering that QB is not a skill position. Pretty sure Rodgers was a 1st round pick as well.

I think the Pats are really happy that Mac Jones feel to them. I don’t think they have any plans of him sitting behind Newton. As far as him being a statue. I seem to remember people saying that about another QB once, and that one turned out to be the GOAT. Jones is faster and more athletic than Tom Brady was when he was drafted. I think he will do just fine in NE.

You can pay Jones a entry level 5 year contract and turn him over to McDaniels or you can pay to get Jimmy Garoppolo. Then pay his contract which will be north of $20 million.

    Seems simple to me.
