That’s not good. Seems like everything Bass Pro and Owner Jonny Morris gets his hands on goes to crap. Ranger boats and Cabela’s to name a few.

The coon rapids location that came back was a fraction of the size and not that impressive, but still sucks to see another one go to bass pro. I wonder if they will keep the name or change it.

You still control where you spend your money.

It’ll go into the same league as Bass Pro. For that matter Cabelas as well. Pretty much a crappy place. I won’t go to a Cabelas anymore and bass pro is to far anyhow. Even FF sucks for inventory.

    Too bad.

    Yep again

Brick and mortar retail is a hard business. Go support your local to keep them going, Thorne, TUCR, Reeds, Custom Jigs n Spins. Keep the list coming!

Agreed Pat. We really do need to support those guys. Don’t forget Capra’s.

I seriously worry about Fleet getting bought out by a company that doesn’t think guns/ammo/fishing gear is worth the floor space compared to stocking more Under Armour hoodies and BBQ aprons.

The number of places that stock a GOOD supply of fishing and hunting products here in the east metro 10 years ago included:

    Sportsman’s Warehouse
    Dick’s
    Cabelas
    Fleet Farm
    Joe’s

Now I’m down to just Fleet and Joe’s.

And to be honest, when it comes to it, Joe’s isn’t that great in either the selection or service department. After I ordered a shotgun from Joe’s that was north of $3,000 and it arrived with an obvious defect, I was treated like complete dog-sh!t by the manager in the guns department who literally said to me, “So what do you want me to do about it?” So basically I use Joe’s when there’s no other choice, but unless I go completely online…

Hey Scheels! Yooo hoooo, over here in the East Metro….

Scheels isn’t a small operation, but they are definitely one of the best around. I’m proud to rep scheels by wearing their hats everywhere I go! waytogo

After seeing the success the Rochester location had I couldnt believe it took them as long as it did to get a location in the metro. Sucks they stuck it way down in a little corner away from a good % of the population here. Put up a Woodbury location and it’d put that Cabelas out of business in a week. I still make a trek to Eden Prairie from St Paul pretty frequently

While working there briefly they talked about their business model/plan. They mentioned that they build approx one new store nationwide… yearly. Wouldnt expect another in MN anytime soon!
