The pan fish where bitting well on south center this afternoon. Found the crappies and golden shiners biting well near one of the deeper holes in the 17′ range. Small jigs tipped with euro larvae worked well. Tried minnows and minnow head and just couldn’t seem to get them to go on these. A lot of the biters where just 5′ under the ice. As it got closer to dark moving towards bottom worked a little better. Size was not all that great as only a hand full hit the 8 to 9″ mark. Still a lot of fun and would be a good place to take the kids.

Has any one else ever caught golden shiners under the ice. This is a 1st for me. I bet we caught close to 20 today.
