I’ll post this here because I don’t know where else to put it. My buddy and I fished East Rush today with pretty good results. The day started terribly with a dead battery and a leaky radiator house, but I made it to the lake by 9. We found 10+ inches of ice in all the holes we drilled. The wind was howling and the snow was sandblasting my face so we didn’t do much moving. We drilled holes up and down the inside turn of a shoreline break. Eventually we settled on a small area in 17 fow that was holding fish on bottom with the occasional suspended school. Unfortunately, they weren’t the crappies we were looking for but rather 7-9″ perch and 6-10″ bluegills. We both ended up with a half dozen fish for dinner and many more released. Marmooskas, mini merts, and diamond jigs produced equally. This was my first trip out, so I hope the rest of the season is this good.
