any one up there see any bays iced in? Were the winds a factor? We pull my dads house out onto South Center around Christmas time. Would be nice if things got nice and thick before any snow comes along.

South Center is still probably 60% OPEN. North Center is iced over, but it’s also much shallower. Green Lake and Chisago still also have quite a bit of open water, too. They freeze over in the next couple of nights if the wind will behave.

Dad just e-mailed and said that there is a guy with a portable and a 4 wheeler out by pancake island. There has been 2-3 shelters out a bit and around the bend, the main lake just iced over, too skinny yet. South Center

Is Sunrise Lake surrounded by private land? I think you have to pay to gain access. Don’t know about springs.

I was on Chisago last night in about 11′ of water. I did not get there until after the sun went down. But it was worth it. Ended up with a limit of 8″ to 8 1/2″ craps.

Your looking at around 7″ to 10″ of ice in the south bay. I will say this. Guys buzzing around my house on wheelers are nuts! Jeez the water would come up out of the hole and the ice would groan and was sounding like thunder. Made a guy a little nervous to say the least.

The best part was it was my trail run for me new Marcum VS 350. Even in the dark I could see my waxie and minnow. The water partilces were there but not as bad as I was thinking. I watched a largemouth come in and hit my waxie. Only problem was trying to get him up. Never got him on the ice but I did get a good look at him when he was swiming back down the hole……..

All and all it was a good night.
