South Lindstrom bassin

Since the walleye bite has slowed for me I wanted a change of pace. For that I tried for some bucket mouths on South Lindstrom Lake on saturday. I tried working a spinnerbait over shallow cover first which produced a fat 15 inch bass right away. I tried this for another 20 minutes without a bite so I thought maybe the fish would be deeper as most of the weeds in 4-8 feet of water were nonexistent or dead. I started throwing a DT10 in firetiger which produced some nicer fish. I made my first cast on the side of some underwater structure and hooked up with a nice fish. After a battle she came loose before making it to the boat. I continued casting the dt10 around some deeper weeds and caught 10 bass 14-17 inches long, your typical chisago area chunky bass. I did have another really nice fish up to the side of the boat that looked 20″ish, but the dog didn’t get the net in the water fast enough and she spit the lure. I did have a few other fish on too that came loose right away which is suprising with two large treble hooks on this lure. Even more suprising were the 5 crappies I caught using the dt10. A silver/black produced a couple of the bass too. Anybody try the blue firetiger or bluegill dt10 and have success? I might have to give those a try.

Thanks for report, I have been meaning to get out there again soon.
I have had soem great success on through these types of crank baits on the deeper weed edges/structures. usually clow rollin’ spinnerbaits work well too.
How are the weeds? are they dying off?
    What is the water color?

    Thanks
    Dan

Dan, the water was green colored from the algae in the water, but you can still see down quite a ways. It did not have the green scum on the top like it has at times. Whenever I tossed the dt10 up too shallow I would pull in dead brown weeds.

Thanks for the information. I am expecting the shallow water fishing to really heat up in the coming weeks then.
    Keep the reports coming
