Headed up to Chisago on Friday afternoon. Decided to try a new spot that I have never fished before. The shore was loaded with people. I managed to elbow my way through and picked a great spot in the corner just down from the crowded fishing pier. The fish were on the bite. Experimented with jig colors all day but caught the majority of my fish on light green and silver with the bobber set at 3 feet. Fishing from shore required a very long cast to get results. Those who could not cast far did not do too well. I managed over 100 crappies, 8 largemouth bass, and didn’t even count the bluegills. Managed to keep 7 crappies between 8 & 9 inches and the rest went back. What a blast. Went back to the same spot on Saturday with my neighbor after bragging about the day with quite different results. The crappies were pretty much gone. MAnaged a few but really only caught gils and a few bass. Love2Fish.
