A quick report: I managed to hit the river for a couple hours each weekend morning and the fishing is really picking up, walleyes were found in the 10-14′ range the smally’s are moving up on the flats next to the channel and the pike are feeding very heavy in both areas. Jigs and minnows, the river is dropping back fast to its normal flow and water temp is 50-52. Yesterday in that driving north wind I was just hammering all three species. I haven’t caught any walleyes over the 14-18″ slot but plenty of nice ones in the slot and lots of nice eaters too!
