Well it was one of those evenings except this time we were targeting a larger
fish. I haven’t actually went out fishing for lake sturgeon before so this was my
first attempt. I am now 0 and 1. I will try it again soon and see what happens maybe
a little different location or bait. We were using cut bait yesterday but maybe sturgeon
don’t like trout. I made a stop at the local trout pond and used a couple of floaters
to make my cut bait from thinking trout may do the trick. Anyone have any pointers they
want to share? Thanks in advance.

I’ve been told that a gob of crawlers in a nylon stocking with the hook concealed is awesome on sturgeon up in Devils Lake. Was told from someone who’s opinion I’d strongly trust! Might want to give it a try.

I think I may be going back out Thursday and one rod will have crawlers and
one will have cut bait. I’ve heard that even shrimp work well so I may try those also.
I’ll let post if I get out. Steve
