Chipped transducer

Quick question for you guys. I noticed I have a chip on my transducer for my Marcum LX-6. It doesn’t appear to be bad enough to let water in but will it effect the performance? I have epoxy I can put on it to repair it but I don’t want to do that if it will mess up the performance of the transducer. Thanks.

If it’s not affecting the performance I’d leave it be. From the pic it still looks like everything is still sealed up.

If anything, maybe just a dab of Marine Goop on that edge.

Since all I’ve ever had are Marcum flashers. I’ve notice that his seems to happen more with some of their transducers.

My first LX5, never had physical problems. This M1 I’ve just purchased last last year and actually used a few times this year…yeah the edges and bottoms are already showing wear and tear like it’s been used a lot. Which isn’t the case. Ducer were only in hole or on ice to prevent fish tangle and for hole hopping. Nothing out of the ordinary use.

I have the exact thing on mine, an lx7. I threw some epoxy on it and it seems to be working fine.
