I just got an email from Chevrolet about their “Fuel On-Demand” services. Apparently, if you can’t be bothered to stop for gas, they’ll come and deliver fuel to your vehicle. doah

Only leads to more people being unable to think for themselves.

I could see my wife using this service,I don’t know how many times I have had to put gas in her SUV before work.

There must be a market for it. I just don’t personally see the need for it. I guess it would be useful for all the TPMS warnings that my wife neglects to tell me about! rotflol

In the article is says you pay the “going rate” designated by AAA.

They’ll fill your truck up multiple times for $20 a month, or $7 for each individual fill up.

I think it’s a great idea. I HATE stopping for fuel. Usually I’ll run my truck down to 1/8th of a tank before I stop. Then I always fill it completely. There are many times I would gladly pay someone that $3-7 and spend the time at home with my kids instead of at the gas station.

Also, I never understood why people put in $10 or $20 at a time. You’re going to spend the exact same amount of money at the end of the month anyway, so all you are doing is costing yourself time…..

My question is how is this company making any money?

If they somehow made 10 stops in an hour, every hour, they would pull in $50/hour or so, plus the small profit on fuel.

Doesn’t seem like a very lucrative idea, unless they make a lot more on upselling their additional services?

Oddly enough, I just looked into a company that does this. They were only in the Texas and California ares. It would be great to have your boat and work vehicles filled up for you. I’m not sure how much extra I’d pay, but it would be sweet. Yea, I know, first world problems.

Really, gauges, warning buzzers & bells. I agree with mark-bruzek how *^#?>_< have we become. Maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to have a drivers license.
