Heading to Chetek any info???

Hello,
I am heading to Chetek saturday for a week with my wife and 2 yr old son. What is biting right now? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated as I would like them to catch some fish. Not looking for anyone’s secret spot but any help would do.

Neighbors have been up there all week. This is their third trip up this summer and it has been the slowest. I will try to get some details and send you a pm. Is there a specific species you are fishing for?

Its not a fishing spot , but I think on one the many lakes that are together there is a water skiing show from some of the kids in town. Its a pretty good show too!! If I remember right you have to go over the bridge in town to get there. Oh– fishing by the town bridge is always a good spot.

panfish and or walleye if they are in there. I really dont know anything about the area.

I was there the whole week and the wife and I each brought home a limit of nice crappies. Had to vertical jig them in deep water.

We’ll be up there next week, hoping to be able to get a few to bite following this hot weather…..

Did pretty well for the little time we fished. Some nice gills and crappie coming to the boat on mini mites(I believe that is what they are called). Jig em, drag em, hang em, it did not matter. Good luck and btw my 2 yr old caught his first fish, what a blast!!!!!!
