Looking to buy my first pair of chest waders for duck hunting. Any recommendations? Looking to stay at or under $200. If it helps, I wear a size 14 shoe but am only around 170 pounds. Thanks

They are little higher than your wanting to spend but I recommend Rogers 2 in 1 toughman series. They do have sales on them from time to time at 199. They are great for an all season wader. Early season when it’s still warm out just zip the liner out, gets later season put the liner back in. Best part about them is they are breathable so if you hunt in freezing temps, you won’t become an ice cube like neoprene.

Thank you, it looks like they’re on sale right now but the website is down.

The time of year you plan to use them makes a big difference. I mostly hunt in Sept/Oct so I prefer a non-insulated lighter set. I’m often out there when its quite warm out and its ungodly uncomfortable standing there in neoprene chest waders when its 70 degrees out. If you plan to hunt late season, Justin’s advice is acceptable.

I’ve officially retired all of my neoprene waders. I bought a pair of lightweight breathable waders last year and wore them up until Dec. 3 in under 10 degree weather. Layering is key with long johns and sweatpants and you’ll be warmer than any neoprene wader available. The air trapped inside is a huge plus. I will never buy another pair of neoprene waders ever again. Rogers makes some good stuff.

Isn’t it funny when neoprene waders first came out, everyone thought they were great. I’m sick of them too. Too warm in early season and I just find them stiff and uncomfortable for sitting down or reaching for anything, etc.

I bought a breathable pair from Cabelas 2 yrs ago and love them. But they are early season temps or layer warm clothes like Merican said.

Cabelas makes some cheap ones, for duck hunting I wouldn’t worry about having seprate shoes as long as you’re not running around a ton

For those of you who have breathable waders, how have they held up for you? I’m on my second pair of breathables, two different brands, in about 6 years and I only hunt less than 10 days a year. Both have leaked around the crotch and leg seams. I’ve never been completely soaked or anything too bad, but it’s a little irritating to have damp/wet pants.

Other than the slightly leaking seams I’ve loved wearing the breathables. Like others have said, they’re great early season and wearing layers for colder weather is easy and they’re really comfortable.

All waders suck. I just bank on buying a new pair every 2-3 years depending on use or lack of. The rubber gets weather checked and leaks. I’ve settled on the scheels or cabelas 150 ish dollar range

My expensive neoprenes leaked after a couple years. Same thing, not enough to be soaked but quite damp. My breathables so far have held up

I have the cabelas brand neoprene with the whatever it’s called “puncture proof” exterior…besr pair I’ve ever owned going on year 4 and I use to go thru waders every year…very hard on them…buddy has Rogers and yes they are the real deal as well but the cabelas ones were alot cheaper
