I am super excited that this weekend I have the opportunity to go up and spend the weekend on Chequamegon Bay.

However I have never been there and could use a bit of guidance.

We are staying in Ashland what is the best boat ramp to use?

Where is the “Must eat place for dinner”?

Where do I head for bait and tackle and the latest report in town?

And last and most important my plan is to target smallmouth bass.

At the end of July where should I be focusing and what presentations are working the best?

    Thank you

Two choices regarding the boat ramps… Second landing with a harbor east of town on Reykdal Road and in town next to and east of the Power Plant and coal docks. You may be able to launch at the marina to the east of this launch, but I know of any specific details.

“Must Eat” place, I will have to look over and let ya know a bit later. we always spent time at the Pizza Pub, Friday fish, sanwiches and of course pizza. There are others and I will let ya know…

Bait and tackle, you cxan’t go wrong, on the east side Anglers All and on the west side River Rock…

I would trust the bait shops to give you better info than I can. I know that they have left the spawning areas, so deep spots that give easy access to 7′-10′ of water… around the breakwall and off the “rock hump”…

    Tubes and drop shots

Good Luck, I’ll get back to you on the other two restaurants that I am aware of, but can’t remember their names…
