Mine is close. I also put cream of celery amd instead of sour cream I use top the tator.(tator topper) plus garlic salt amd top it off with corn flakes. And a couple differemt cheeses.

I like hearimg how other people do their cheesy taters toast

next time you smoke a pork butt or brisket save some back.
when you do cheesy taters break out the smoked pork or brisket, shred or chop it up and add to the recipe.
top the mix with corn flakes or toasted bread crumbs.

well seeing as how you are going to be that way lol,its not cheesy hashbrowns but it was my supper tonight.
chicken drumsticks doctored with sea salt, pepper, and a touch of garlic powder.
    finished with sweet baby rays.

beans, bushes original drained, third cup of ketchup, third cup of sweet baby rays bbq sauce, third cup of brown sugar, tablespoon of worchestershire, tablespoon of soy sauce and a half shot of jack, twenty five shots for the chef.

mushrooms, baby bellas marinated in soy, worchestershire and jack, five more shots for chef.
done on a kingsford charcoal smoker grill using their charcoal.
filled up on the mushrooms and didnt have much room for the chicken or beans but I managed.
and who the hell drank all of the jack??? back to town I guess,if I can find the jeep.

Our recipe is similar to the OP but we use cream of celery soup. Also, cook up some chopped onions (about 1 big yellow). Most importantly though is the potatoes – boil up 4 lbs of unpared (skins on) potatoes, let them cool enough to peel (scraping with a big spoon works best) the shred with a cheese shredder. Also, because we live in WI we are required by law to use real cheddar cheese. Corn flakes on top too. That’s my wife’s rule, if it were up to me I’d use Panko.

Now that I look back, the only thing we have in common is sour cream grin
