I had a mishap with heavy winds and my walk through windshield…lost my 6’6” medium action jigging rap rod. Would go as long as 7’, any suggestions for something under 75$?

I would go with a cabelas eagle. I have a 6’6 and it’s nice for the price point.

id buy a Scheels….if you break your Fish Eagle, and take it back to cabelas, they wont warranty their “lifetime guarantee” they advertise so heavily.

    It’s legendary though.

Their return policy sure sucks now.

Do you think that is because of the Bass Pro Shop buyout though?

Could be or when they went public it started the process. Had a friend go through heck and back with an XML he tried to return. About the only thing he got them on was satisfaction guaranteed cause the product material isn’t guaranteed. The workmanship is guaranteed, but how do you prove that? They have a great feeling XML 6’10” ml with a fast tip that’s an awesome rod, but it basically doesn’t have a warranty. Where the rubber meets the road, the warranty holds no water vs how it’s pushed, pimped and advertised.

Were talking about rod that retails at $70 and are often on sale for 40% off. Guess I never considered returning. Darn nice rod for the price. Last years models were 60% off in store. The current “new” design looks to be back ordered in most all models.

Load it up and give the rod a good look over before leaving the store. Break it, go buy another!

Whatever you can find that controls the lure well and balances well-I would not worry too much-when they are ready to hit a jigging rap they will hit it darn good. The jigging dudes(jigs) who are looking for those light biters need a very sensitive rig (check out the last episode of IDO) caught a fish on a spinner bait
smacked it like a pike, same idea.

x3 I have two fish eagles and love them. However I have the 7′ 6″ L. Its amazing for panfish and works just fine for some jig draggin applications.

Scheels rods are a very good value and they have the best warranty left in the business IMO.

It really doesn’t matter if I spend $10 or $200 on a rod, it’s nice to have a return policy the company stands behind 100%. I buy plenty from Cabela’s but I’ll never buy a rod.
