Charging Station?

I am curious if anyone knows of a charger that could charge 3 flasher batteries? We built shelves in the trailer and would like to have three of these outlets mounted behind the shelf with the male leads on our flashers. We have limited 110v plugs so a charger capable of charging 3 lead acid batteries would be helpful.

While I don’t have this specific one, I have a few Noco chargers and a booster pack and have been happy wi th all of them.

I agree with the noco chargers. I have one and am very happy with it. I’m pretty sure you could use a single bank charger and just splice into the charging circuit for each of your outlets. Each battery you plug in would just take twice as long to charge though. You would want to get at least a 10 amp charger. That would give you about 3 amps per channel if you had 3 plugged in.

The chargers which Marcum provides with their products only put out one amp and I believe most sources do not recommend more than a 1.5 amp charger for the small SLA flashers batteries.
A ten amp charger hooked to a single flasher battery might be cause for concern. Even if three batteries were hooked up, unless they are all equally discharged, one battery may be receiving the bulk of the available amperage.
My suggestion would be use the individual chargers that came with the units (or equivalent 1 amp chargers) and plug in a power strip to provide more 110volt outlets.

Yeah, good point. And the other problem is that a smart charger simply wouldn’t be able to work properly with multiple batteries hooked up.

The G4 I linked above puts out 1.1A per bank. Another benefit is it has a lithium mode so it will still work if you ever switcher your flasher batteries to lithium.

Shop around for a deal. I think they used to also give 15% or so off if you signed up for their newsletter.

I’ll check out the G4 charger, I only found one charger with three banks that puts out essentially a trickle charge but it was $150. Maybe I should just add another power strip.

You can charge an sla/agm with a 10 amp charger, no problem. AH is simply charge/discharge rate.

Jamin, that is the one I was looking at. The 3 bank is around $150 but I don’t think it’s worth spending that much for less clutter. The problem seems to be that we are getting so many electronic that charging everything after a day of fishing is difficult, especially when you are traveling.

Yeah it’s a steep price. I guess that’s why I still haven’t caved in and deal with 2 or 3 chargers hooked up instead. Can’t beat a power strip for the price. grin

That’s the understatement of the year. I’m kind of lucky having the cabin. I just built a table (out of a reclaimed deck that I milled up) specifically for charging all my devices. I mounted a power strip and labeled all the charging cords with BIG lettering. Put a shelf underneath to set all the rest of the equip. to get it off the floor. FW loves that she has space back in that room.

That’s one of the big benefits of going Lithium. You can charge in less than a couple hours usually, it’s not necessary to set everything up for an all-nighter.

I first switched primarily because I had an issue with forgetting to plug electronics in, usually the result of stopping for a drink somewhere. Now I can get enough charge while I’m eating my eggs.

Just get 3 wall wart chargers and wire the output to that plug you have in the picture and hide the Warts underneath or in a cabinet somewhere.
