Charcoal sale ?

Any one know where the good charcoal sale is going to be this weekend ? Lowe’s was good last year. My pops is getting nervous about his summer grilling and needs to stock up. Figured I’d ask around.

Sams Club. If you BBQ a lot, the annual fee is worth it.

The other sale that I will be taking advantage of is my grocery store has Sweet Baby Ray’s 10 for $10.

Generally Home Depot does. I haven’t checked yet, but I only have 8 bags left!

Yep. That’s how I buy 95% if my charcoal. I have it stacked on a pallet in my garage.

Bought 16 bags last memorial day at a big box store and another 8 from costco plus a 30 lb bag of lump. Have about half of that left. Probably should stock up again

I was looking for the same sale, its how I stock up for the year as well. So far I am not seeing any Memorial Day sales going on at Home Depot or Lowes

The past year or two, they’ve been unadvertised and over the weekend only. I’ll be stopping in this weekend unless someone here finds it sooner.

I just asked the guy at the Home
Depot in maplewood and he said they arent doing any sales on charcoal for the holiday weekend. Edit: I have zero trust/faith in anything a home depot sales associate says.

WHAT?!? Garbage. As if I needed another reason to avoid that dump of a store.

I flipping hate Menards. I’ll be waiting for a different sale. Not to mention that isn’t money that you are saving, it’s trash Menards money that you get back.

$6 for 18lbs seems like a fair price without good ole johnny boys rebate

Meh, not that great of a sale IMO. Royal Oak is OK coal. I got it for $4 a bag last year no rebate required.

Seems kind of odd to me they wouldn’t have a big sale to bring customers to the store during these uncertain economic times. Then again, based off of some peoples reports Big Box hardware stores are busier than ever

Like clockwork for many years now, both HD and Lowes would have the two-bag Kingsford on sale over Mem and July 4th weekend. Seems strange that they wouldn’t again. It always seemed to be that kind of “loss leader” thing to get you into the store. Even moreso now that so many people will be sticking around home a lot more and eating at home a lot more.

I believe both Lowes and Home Depots sale ad start on Thursdays and that when I look and stock up. Anxiously waiting as I too am running real low.

i just read somewhere else that there may not be any charcoal sales for a while!!

the guy that posted it said he works at a store that sells charcoal and the green egg. apparently there is a charcoal shortage and stores are being limited in there restock orders…………

now its charcoal hoarders………

I see Lowe’s has 2x20lb packs for $16.88. Not great, but better than retail.

I’ve been hoarding charcoal for years.

I don’t even see a Home Depot Memorial Day flyer.

Jeez do you really use that much, or are you the charcoal guy for Stiftingfest or whatever it’s called?!?

I grill 3-4 times per week in the summer and 1-2 times per week in the winter, so we go through quite a bit. And I usually bring to the cabin, too. And it doesn’t go bad, so I generally only buy it on Memorial day and Labor day sales.
