Do any of the pro staffers have a review of the new small baitfeeder? Would love to have them for finicky perch on a bullwhip.
I’m not trying to be a richard here, but it’s Sept 23rd. I’d imagine reviews of these reels will start showing up after we get some ice.
True but some of the pro staffers get to use the equipment the season before. I know all of the shows that guy from devils lake I won’t name records all his shows the year before they air and he has all the new stuff from that blue company.

Working samples of the new Ceymar 500 baitfeeder were not available prior to ice out. I’ve receive samples this summer but can’t offer any first hand accounts. They feel great, I’m sure they’ll work great, but I can’t honestly say I’ve had them on the ice.
I have not… but was told I would be able to have my hands on one for sure by December 1. That is soon enough for me.

Damn. I’ll be on ice well before that. Might still order one.
First it was September. Now its December. Seems to me when December arrives we will hear first quarter of 2020.
Soon as we find bigfoot these reels will be available. :-0

It’s always been December.
There is a national online fishing retailer that states they have the 500 in stock for $69.99.
Nevermind my last post. I tried to order to see what would happen and they changed it to a pre-order.
Hey guys, long time listener, first time caller. I noticed Okuma had them available to order through their website so I emailed them. I got an email back saying they are in stock ready to ship and they are currently shipping to distributors/retailers right now. Won’t be long before you see them on shelves. -Chad
The 500 sizes are available now on Okumas website. Grabbed a couple today!
We are hoping to have them ready for our open house.
John
From TUCR FB feed…”they are in!”
Just might have to stop in for the free lunch at the open house.
While I’m there, just might think about matching Ceymar 500 with a Precision Noodle I’ve been holding out for the past couple years.
Hope there are deals at the open house.
Went to Okumas site to order 4 reels. Shipping was in excess of 25 $. I decided to wait for a place that doesn’t inflate its profit margin using shipping charges.
We will have the up online in about a week.
I don’t know if that help you at all. Takes a little bit to get the washers in them.

Please post when you do, I’ve got an order ready. Price?

Have you checked Amazon? Okuma sells them there for $10 less per reel, plus free shipping. My cart said $257 for 4 but they only had a few more available.
I know it seems like it should be cheapest to buy direct from the company but that’s often not the case. Fulfillment, distribution, packing, shipping — theses are all things that Amazon can do much more efficiently and less expensively than Okuma can — they’re practically begging you to use Amazon by charging full retail plus $25 flat rate shipping from their own website.

Got a link for Amazon? Just wondering, I searched for the CBF-500 and could not find that exact model from Amazon.
Regardless, I did see John from TUCR quote their retail price at $59.99 with the washer upgrade. Not sure about shipping, some items (rods) I see they do have free shipping.
Hope I’m not posting “fake news”
I’ll be at TUCR open house this Saturday…we will see what we will see.
We will have the Ceymar 500 Baitfeeds at the Open House. They will go up on our website for sale after the open house. The price is $59.99 and that includes the updated Carbontex Drag washer.

The page I was looking at was specifically for the smallest size, model CBF-40. That link is here.
The CBF-55 is $69 and the CBF-65 is $74.
Sounds like TUCR has the best deals, especially with the upgraded washer — assuming that “Ceymar 500” = CBF-55?

Good…and thanks! I was worried I might be just fueling the TUCR propaganda machine.

Actually no, the CBF-500 and CBF-55 are not the same…different reels. Almost like splitting a hair as far as I could tell you though. Different specs I believe but if you handed me one or the other, I would only know that its a “purty” little fishing gizmo.
My bad I was just looking at the okuma site and they only list the 3 larger models and not the new micro sizes.
Reeds Sporting Goods has them in the ice fishing catalog on page 84.
CBF500 is listed at $59.99.
On the same page they also list an Avenger ABF Baitfeeder ABF5000 for $49.99
My pair of 500 CBF’s were a setting on my porch today. Put one on a self built mudhole carbon blank with carbon handle. The other I put on a perch assault rod.
Both turned out to be nice light combos. Cannot wait to try these for deadsticking this year. Light enough combo I could either for jigging or dead stick.
