Murdering ceos of insurance companies will solve nothing , they will only replace them with another . 6 billion in 3rd quarter profit ? I see Blue Cross did an about face on limiting time under anesthesia . 2 times i woke up on the operating table ! Can’t imagine cutting the time you go under just for profits !

There is a new twist. Him and his wife live in separate houses.
They own 2 homes, one in each of their names. I never read they lived apart.
The article I read said they lived apart. It might be wrong.
dirtywaterPosts: 1627December 7, 2024 at 2:02 pm #2303597Dirtywater you said it without actually saying it. It’s pretty obvious you are quietly applauding this heinous crime.
I said nothing of the sort and meant nothing of the sort. I’m applauding nothing. You don’t know me. I know this is the internet but don’t jump to broad assumptions based on 3 sentences. Others above me on this thread made much more radical statements than mine.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23309December 7, 2024 at 2:16 pm #2303598Dirtywater, You’re right I don’t know you and based on the majority of your comments I don’t think I would want to get to know you unlike the vast majority of the folks here that I would. The only time you chime in are on posts like this. Can’t recall the last time I’ve seen a post from you responding to something trivial like fishing reports etc
December 7, 2024 at 2:22 pm #2303599I think the killer made it out of there scot-free. This guy might never get caught.
December 7, 2024 at 3:19 pm #2303605I’ll echo what has already been said. I have a lot of beef with health insurance companies and the (un)affordable care act, but that doesn’t mean someone should be assassinated like this.
I agree that the guy may never get caught, which is pretty astonishing in this day and age in a large city like NY.
jwellsyPosts: 1585December 7, 2024 at 4:18 pm #2303613I’d like to hear more about what the CEO had going on.
Was he about to turn whistleblower on something?
This reminds me of the Jan 6th pipe bomber that had a bunch of pictures of him too, yet supposedly can’t figure out who it was.dirtywaterPosts: 1627December 7, 2024 at 4:30 pm #2303616Dirtywater, You’re right I don’t know you and based on the majority of your comments I don’t think I would want to get to know you unlike the vast majority of the folks here that I would. Awww I’m hurt. And here I was thinking we wee gonna be pals. If you can’t handle someone having a different opinion than yours without forming a blanket opinion of them and making dumb assumptions, you might have some issues to work out. Good luck my dude!
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23309December 7, 2024 at 4:39 pm #2303617Dirty, no problem with different opinions at all. I don’t form blanket opinions either your reputation precedes you carry on.
December 7, 2024 at 5:42 pm #2303622Not even sure what you guys are arguing about. Whether it was justified? Pretty sure most of us believe it was wrong and the guy should be punished accordingly. But also not as sad or outraged about it as seeing an innocent kid get shot either.
December 7, 2024 at 5:44 pm #2303624At this point I’d think he wanted them to find the backpack in Central Park. Guessing they got basically nothing out of it. Sounds like divers are looking for the gun, so that wasn’t inside.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23309December 7, 2024 at 5:46 pm #2303625Not even sure what you guys are arguing about. Whether it was justified?
dirtywater intimated that it was justified because healthcare is corrupt and he was overpaid and allowed other people to die denying care etc. Anyone’s murder is tragic. This guy may not have been innocent because he was definitely under investigation for insider trading but that’s hardly something to be killed for.
December 7, 2024 at 5:53 pm #2303627Yeah we’re on the same page then. I think most of us are. Hasn’t been much for updates today. I think they’re going to have a hard time catching him.
DeucesPosts: 5268December 7, 2024 at 5:55 pm #2303628Rough math has 20000 murders per year in the USA, ~54 per day.
Haven’t heard any others making front line national news.
Like it or not, this type of scenario does do something. I also read far too much spy fiction and espinoge crap to add anything further.

All murders are tragic. True many don’t get much if any coverage this one did because of the high profile person and the manner in which it was carried out. That is all…
December 7, 2024 at 6:28 pm #2303632When your company makes life & death decisions everyday people will take extreme actions. Did he deserve to die? I’m not God but at least one person thought he did.
If he wasn’t from Minnesota this thread likely wouldn’t gave garnered 5 replies.
December 7, 2024 at 6:35 pm #2303633I’m far more interested in the manhunt. I’ve always liked true prison escape and manhunt shows.
And here we have a real life one…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23309December 7, 2024 at 6:41 pm #2303634The manhunt is actually fascinating. This dude had things pretty well figured out at least so far. We will see how long it lasts.
December 7, 2024 at 10:04 pm #2303673So the backpack had a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and of all things Monopoly money !

stop calling it an assassination. It was a murder. If it was an assassination, you need to call every murder an assassination.

The dictionary would disagree.
December 8, 2024 at 7:35 am #2303681The Monopoly money kinda confirms he planned for the backpack to be found.

Yeah, for an amatuer he sure had everything planned out well. And likely some inside info given he was only waiting like 5 minutes until Thompson showed up. The authorities seem to think they are closing in, so hopefully we get some answers soon.

I wasn’t aware he was from Minnesota. I do agree, when your the face of a company that hands out death sentences daily and lobby with insurance and pharma to drive prices on people’s medicines, and treatments to the point they can’t afford them. It makes you a target to some one who already has a couple screws loose. Many Americans don’t have good insurance and their quality of life is effected much more than the majority here. I feel for the guy but like others have said many other murders happen on the daily, 1000s of kids are missing but we are only worried about this guy because he was rich.

For the sake clarity I intimated nothing and do not believe the murder was justified. Stop lying and accusing me of things to fit your narrative. You have clearly formed an opinion of me and are bent on twisting my words to fit that narrative. It’s weird and I’m asking you to just stop. I’m not making personal attacks or accusations against you and I don’t think it’s asking a whole lot to expect the same in return.

I am not sure if he was born here, but he did indeed live in Maple Grove.
December 8, 2024 at 8:37 am #2303693He was born in Iowa not that has any bearing on anything. My point was if he wasn’t a resident of Minnesota, filthy rich and a CEO of a fortune top 100 this would have generated a paragraph of coverage.

you’d think with all the cameras around they’d match him up somewhere

Calm down dude
Take it up with the OP who started the thread and titled it CEO ASSN.
December 8, 2024 at 9:11 am #2303700What gets me is how this shooter is able to escape using public transport. You gotta think someone recognized him at some point.
