Has anyone ever ice fished Cedar Lake in Minneapolis? I’ve never seen anyone bring it up on any of the MN fishing forums, I’m wondering if there’s a reason for that(springs, bad ice, etc).

I used to fish it quite a bit. Hit or miss, like all downtown lakes. It does have a healthy population of Tigers, which in some winters, provide for good action.

Can not comment on the panfish population, though. I do see a few people out there each winter, but I have no idea how they typically do.

The lake has safe ice and has good water for an inner city lake. Just don’t fish in front of the colverts during spring melt or a heavy rain for safety.
The lake gets lets fishing pressure because its harder get there.
    Good luck!
