I got this E-mail early this morning all I can say is that would be a battle!!!!

This is the “info” I got with it.

This is a darn interesting picture and story even if you aren’t into fishing,

But please show it to anyone you know that likes to fish.

FYI: This sturgeon is still alive, just worn out from the fight.

As the sports fishermen they are, they turned him loose after the photo.

This Sturgeon was caught in the Missouri River, North of Bismarck,

North Dakota two weeks ago. It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and

    measured out at 11’1″.

It was 56″ around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours,

and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it in.

Any Sturgeon OVER about five feet has to be released unharmed

and cannot be removed from the water.

They are brood / breeding stock and probably older than most of us.

This photo and story surfaces again.

I believe this is the same sturg that was caught in Oregon on the river years ago.

I’ve seen that same picture before a couple years ago and am pretty sure it was caught in the columbia river over by oregon.

I thought it had been around. I’m going to guess just upstream from Everts.

Wasn’t it last year that one of the local tv channels did a story on who what and where this monster came from?

It was a river North of the Columbia if I recall…but my email collection claims St. Croix, Mississippi, Missouri and the North Fork of the Crow River near Hutchinson. (Ok, I just made up the Crow River)

No matter where it came from…that’s one ‘ell of a White Sturgeon!!

That’s a Clementson resort boat in the background. Caught near the Rapid River inlet. Hooked it in the morning and didn’t get it in until way after dark. They had nearly drifted to Wheelers point before the fish finally was brought to shore.

That fish would pull a boat to wherever it pleased.

I thought maybe you had hooked him Tyler.
