Being I fish so many tournaments, and what to release the healthiest fish I can possibly release at the end of the day, I’m thinking about 1. My boat is still under two covers here at work (shame on me for not getting her out yet) and was just cusrious how difficult it is to get access to Live well from outside the livewell itself. For the life of me, I can’t recall.
    Thanks in advance

Great question. I will be curious for my own boat.

its very easy to install, should only take about 20 min
all you need is a 2″ hole saw and about 4-6′ of 16 gage wire with crimps and terminal (ring type) ends for the battery end. mount it just left of center on the back and up about 2″ from the bottom of the well. you can get to the back of the well through the port in the splash well…any questions just PM me

Once mounted in your live well, how does a person clean off the scaling?

    Bullheads don’t have scales

Pick up some Rejuvenade while your at it to add to your livewell while keeping fish. I don’t know how it works but it works.

I’d read up on that product. From the little bit I understand, the picture looks nice but 2/3 of the bubbles are not O2. I’ve never heard of using such a thing in an aquarium. If it was feasable, they would. Water still needs to be circulated so CO2 can dissipate. O2 and CO2 levels in water are ellusive.

I want to try out one of these link only 3/4 of an amp to run one.

Better yet try U2 Pro Formula it was made to use with the OXYGENATOR and it has FDA approval for human consumption if you decide to eat the fish you keep

I use a toothbrush and CLR, rinse, and repeat process. I never get it all but it’s good. Mount it in an easy to access spot.

I agree though about the Oxygenator. Used alone you will be very disappointed because it does not agitate the water enough. Anything but bullheads will die in warm water. Used in conjunction with an aerator that does agitate the water and your bait will be so lively you will have a hard time holding on to it.

The Pro Live Well Flush Mount (BKM-3) is self-cleaning. However, the Portable Live Well Keeper (BKM-2) does require occasional cleaning. To clean the Portable Live Well Keeper, simply immerse the unit in a normal kitchen glass or small container, using a 50-50 mix or CLR (found at most hardware and grocery stores) and water for about ½ hour and brush the remaining calcium off with the brush provided, and rinse thoroughly. DO NOT use a metal-bristle brush as it will remove the special coating on the Oxygenator’s titanium mesh screen, which will result in lost efficiency.

I had an Oxgenator in my livewell. It kept bass pike walleye and suckers super lively, but it would take only an hour to kill off my bullheads.
I think it had something to do with the way the unit uses electricity through the water that has deadly effects on bullheads.

Just an FYI for those cat anglers out there.

For other anglers who want to use, I think its an awsome product.
