Here are a few of the nicer ones we caught on p4 late last week. The bite really turned off Thursday and Friday, but we still managed to land a few. In our group we had two 10 lb channels one 8 lb and a bunch in the 3-4 lb range.

I did find some but they don’t really compare in size to river fish. Kept some of the 2-3#. Not used to the luxury of sorting. Turned out to be a great afternoon. Reeled in 19. About 15 more than usual.

Oh and I caught the shad in a castnet. .. . . Had numerous doubles on. Not usual but kept me busy.

Here is a dark one that didn’t have any eyes. The skin just grew over them.

Minnesota River tanker. Caught on a big live sucker while targeting flatheads. All we caught Thursday night was channels.

Here’s a nice pair I landed this weekend. We were fishing the downstream end of a rock bar and they hit in about 2-3 fow on whole frozen suckers rigged on a 2 hook harness with a small orange float. The Minnesota river down here by Mankato is running from 2-4 feet in most spots, so I’ve put the boat away for the winter after sucking a munch of gunk into the water intake last time we were out. There’s a few more pools I need to check out before it cools off. There ight be a few more lurking.
