One of these days I’m going to have to figure out what the difference is between “infinate” and “instant” anti-reverse.

Is that a misprint on the weight of the 7000 is 56 oz? 3.5 lbs seems a little much for a reel

How about Level Wind on some reels? What’s that? Anybody here have issues with unleveled breezes and gusts?

Yeah, it’s bigger than most of the fish you catch

With a name like Omoto and Ming Yang, can you say Chinese knockoff?

    http://bottomdwellerstackle.com/reels.htm

I’m sure they work fine and probably are a decent reel, but you just gotta love when original ideas (Abu Garcia) are blatently ripped off and sold for less because of cheap labor.

Hard to argue with the price though.

There is a trick! I bet you could make a lot of money on the internet if you video taped that and uploaded it to YouTube.

    Is it Spring yet?

The thing is, the abus just got farmed out to china. The design is super old. And the knock offs aren’t really that cheap.

I odered some sinkers from there last year. It was sweet not having to pay $1 each + time + gas. And I actually got the sinkers I wanted, not whatever the one mold some bait shop guy has.

I hear ya Josh, and that guy has some decent prices on his sinkers.

For some reason though, Abu Garcia rolls off the tongue better than Ming Yang.

But yeah, most everything is headed to China, just have to roll with it I guess.

I have met and fished with the guy who owns Bottom Dwellers Tackle(Dave Ashby). He’s a great guy and has a great line of catfishing equipment. His prices are great too. I got to see the Omoto and the Ming Yang reels that Dave brought to a skip jack fishing get together in Cumberland City Tennessee this New Years weekend. They are really nice reels. That Ming Yang CL60 for just over $40.00 is an amazing reel. Very smooth and built solid. When I need reels, that’s the reel I’ll be buying for catfishing.
