Not sure Bob would appreciate a mouse in his boat.

    Why? He already allows rats.

Your a bit punchy. You need to catch a sturgeon soon. You are lowering my self esteem.

It is on! Despite sealing the entry around the gas line going to the AC outside with that hard, expanding foam, I heard one of those monkeybutts this morning. Lots of neck snapping in spring loaded mouse traps ahead!

the other night I chased a shrew around the front yard. he didn’t appreciate my bullying.

on a side note, those things sure get active this time of year. I wonder why.

Not sure they are more or less active this time of year, but we see them more this time of year.

Here’s some fun reading in a PDF file….

    link not found.

It was a few years back when I was wondering why the bats weren’t hibernating or why there was a bird chirping at night.

Then one evening after darkness had fallen my dogs trapped one under a patch of dry grass it had constructed as a shelter. I had no idea how loud those things were. After that night I now can identify there chirping and squeaking after dark. They are everywhere.

Don’t let your dogs play with them, because they are venomous. Won’t kill you or your dog, but you will get sick.

By the way the trapped worked perfect last night. Instant kill. Sadly, it was a deer mouse and not a field mouse. You can’t say I didn’t give them a chance, beyond what most people would do.

I noticed all the peanut butter was gone too. Makes me wonder if a second one didn’t enjoy a meal once his buddy set off the trap.

All of the peanut butter is gone from my traps with nary a dead mouse to be found.

Today was the first day since putting the traps out where no mice were trapped. In I believe about 4 days we got about 5 or 6 with a couple doubles.

Like I said, if they were field mice, I wouldn’t really care. But those deer mice are so darn cute.

Next up, the mole that has pretty much destroyed my front yard this fall. I’ll post some pictures. It is amazing how bad he has torn it up.
