Just wondering if anyone had any experiance with this net?

I’m thinking about one for next year…but I don’t want to be the guy that finds out that they can’t handle a 30 pound cat, much less a 50 pounder.

Nice concept, but check out the bag material.I have a Rapala folder with the same cotten netting and it is a hook magnet. I almost bought the Frabil and am very glad I didn’t.
Next year I will show you how to “LIP” a 50.

I was looking at the material Stuart. I’m guessing the coated net would be too bulky to pull up the tube I ‘spose.

You know the first years that’s what I did, lip and lift, but with all those walleye hooks..

I was having my picture taken when fishing with Fisher Dave a number of years ago. The hand in the cats mouth felt something a little odd. When I looked it was a rust old #2 hook. Always used a net since.

If your looking to save space I’d look at the BIG stowmaster. It’s got a coated bag with small mesh so it’s not as hard on the fishes fins If space isn’t a issue I’d go with the biggest Beckman with the fin saver bag and save yourself 50$ compared to the stowmaster.

Great concept if you were gonna canoe or something of that nature but for BK I’d say take Stuart up on Lipping lessons before buying the Hibernet.I didnt like the hoop(should I say Triangle) or the net material!

    Hi BK,

I have the Hiber-Net, and utilize it with large groups. I like it, and I doubt your fishing those cats with cranks. Now as far as landing 30+ pound Whiskers with it…….? I’d personally probably opt for the Conservation series, and probably the big hoop for “Man Fish” like that. The Hiber-Net is a great net for the average walleye/pike/panfish guy wanting to save some room, and the ultimate net for BWCA/canoe anglers. I’m looking to add (ONCE AGAIN) another Frabill net to my fleet this year with there largest HOOP net for monster pike in the spring! Seems a guy needs 2-3 nets to match his fishing needs. Oh well just another reason to walk down your favorite aisles at the local sporting goods department!

I have one and its nice for a slow day of fishing where you dont use it much of if you really need the room. Its a real hook magnet even with just jigs.
