Do you sturgeonairs notice any difference in the use of fresh or frozen suckers as far as the bite goes?

I don’t see how frozen would ever be a better choice over frozen. Then again, I am not a fish.

Channel cats seem to home in faster on frozen. At least in my limited experience. Why? Broken down more by freezing? Heck I don’t know.

Would it be possible that the sturgies could home in more on a smellier bait?

I thought dead shad was the preferred bait for sturgeon. I’ve never fished for sturgeon so what do I know. I know the channels love them though.

    Take care!

Wait a minute…. I’d need to actually catch one to be a good judge, correct? I rescind my opinion…

What’s this about squished fatheads? Do stomp on them? Bring a rolling pin? Drop and Acme anvil on their heads? Is it just the head that you squash or is it the whole body?

I squish suckers, but my fatheads are pretty much squished in the process of putting them on the hook. Maybe that is what he meant. Squish a bunch together on the hook?

Stick them in your mouth and chomp down. You only want to use the ones that have a very strong taste. Throw the rest of them away.

I thought you were supposed to keep chomping until you find the ones that tasted like bananas.
