This has been a terrible summer in many respects, but if you stay at it long enough, you will eventually hit the jackpot and we finally did. The week of September 5 – 9 was wild. We were on the Rainy River and between those dates, we caught 2 large Lake Perch, 5 Smallmouth Bass, 9 Walleyes and 46 Lake Sturgeon. That totaled with what we had caught since July 5 made for an even 100 sturgeon when this tagged one came aboard. We finished with 101 sturgeon during that time frame. If I don’t spend some time at home soon, I think my FW is going to shoot me, but I would die happy.

The first picture is me with a nice 56 inch fish.

The next two pictures are sturgeon number 100 on the measuring board. It was tag number 82 231. This sturgeon was originally tagged April 19, 2004 and has not been reported since. It was 32.3 inches at time of tagging and an even 42.0 when we caught and released it.

    What a terribly great summer.

That’s because you won’t bring Jolene! No Jolene, no Chris. Simple as that.

82 231 Was originally tagged in Four Mile Bay, April 19,2004 and had not been reported since. It had grown 10 inches in that time. The “sponsoring angler” was reported as Larson if that will help.
