Anyone use the preserved shad for sturgeon? I just picked up a bag of the Magic Baits shad at GM. I had good luck with the frozen shad Moore’s used to sell, so I thought I’d give these a try. $12 a bag makes it a pricey experiment.
    Thanks, Ingy
    p.s. Picked up 5 last wednesday evening between 24″ & 45″.

I did! Twice. The first and the last time.

I really hope you have better luck with it than I did.

Channels even turn their nose up to the preserved shad…

I think those preserved baits are more for fish that hunt based on sight and sound and not scent.

Ever eat a steak that came from an embalmed cow?

I made that mistake ONCE. IMO ~ for the Croix, nothing replaces fresh shad.
