It ended up bing a pretty succesful opener.

Saturday we got 1 sturgeon about 30″. But the highlight was the big flathead that thought he was a sturgeon. Or at least I thought he was.

Today, we headed out to the same spots and got 9 sturgeon. The largest being about 50″ and a couple about 45″ and one about 40″. I think all were caught on the sampler platter (2 crawlers and 2 fatheads). Also got another nice flathead. Look BK, NO GLOVES!!!

Please ignore all the landmarks in the photos as I want to keep these spots a secret .

    How did everyone else do?

Nice fish! Black rods, black motor and black shirt. How could you go wrong? LOL!

    How deep were you fishing?

My boat was out for 9 hours and not a sturgeon was found. Number of good size channels…but not a sturgeon.

Great fish! Way to rebound on day 2.

My alarm was all set to get out again this morning but I set the alarm for Sunday, not Monday!

Caught 1 fish in about 15′ and all the others were in about 32′ by the King Plant. WE tried fishing some narrows with current but only got the 1. All the others were out on the main basin.

We fished from 5 am to 2 pm on Saturday, and 5 am to noon today. 8 fish between 9 and noon.

Way to go, now everyone is going to be fishing in front of the King Plant.

    Oh yeah, they already do.

My +60″ girl is still swimming out there around Andersen Point. One of these days, I’ll hook up with her again. Maybe she’s put on some weight by now…
