Yes. But if people keeping catfish diaries wanted to bypass the online reporting part, that would be fine. At least as long as I get the diary at the end of the year. Just find it interesting to get the information a little sooner. The online reporting option does give me a chance to promote the Metro Catfish Study if they haven’t already taken the survey and gotten involved with the catfish diary stuff.
Just leave that tag in there if the fish is released. And for catfish, don’t let the presence of a tag sway your decision on whether to harvest or release. Treat it as if it wasn’t tagged, but if you harvest it, please report it so I know that the fish is out of the population and so I can record the location of where it was caught.
Sorry BK, didn’t mean to change the subject of this thread from sturgeon to catfish, but I expect a fair number of cats will be caught while sturgeon fishing. I don’t want to be on your bad side or you’ll come after me with a cast net
