Anyone been out on Pool 4 and had much luck this week.

Water looked pretty high this am but not much flow so I was thinking about heading down towards the lake abit.

Any words of advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

The Channelcat bite has been quite good all week here. Typically cut bait is dominant this time of year, but stink bait clearly has been the channels choice as of now.

Work the areas where backwaters or tribs meet the main current.

Use the stink bait to locate fish, then use at least on rod with cut bait.

If you happen on a eddie, (the larger the better) in the main river, spend a few minutes checking that area out too!

Not the ‘Sip, but we were on the Croix last night… Three boats got off the river at the same time with no fish. Mallory and I personally fished with live suckers, cut suckers, and stink bait. Mallory had one hard run, but it was probably a large log.

Anyway, we fished one pretty good eddy and a hole that usually produces some nice channels… (I didn’t think they would move too far from that spot because the water was higher, but the current remained relatively the same…

Moral of the story: don’t get your anchor stuck, because it really sucks

We just got back from three days at Evert’s today. Fishing was a bit tough until we zeroed in on them and switched over to stink bait. Then we were hitting lots of small guys with the occasional 5-10 lb fish coming in. Like BK said, the big eddies and current breaks on the feeder streams were really the only places we found fish. Good three days though!

Oh, and Mike, yes it really does suck to get your anchor stuck.

Nice night last night, ended up with 7, biggest around 15, smallest around 8. Slack water off the current with livers produced the best.
