Down here we’re waiting for the rivers to get back in their banks. The local lake has all but a few boat ramps closed and it’s full of joy riders.

Clip a small split shot about 3′ up your line. It will collect the weeds and crap and keep them away from your bait (mostly). You will still collect stuff, but it will keep your bait available for the fish longer. We will be on the water tomorrow.
