Just had to get out on lake Zumbro last night to see how the cats were doing. I am happy to report, they are just fine!

My friend Mike and I hit the water around 6:30 and checked out some new spots with no luck.

Right around 8:00 we decided to move to one of our favorite go to spots and decided to drift/troll a mix of cut sucker and sonnys stinky stuff. We fished at a depth of 15-18 fow, making large circles over a span of about 4 or 5 hundred yards. At about 9:30 I landed a 28″ and about a half hour later Mike pulled in this real healthy looking 21″er. A little less than an hour passed and I get a nice hit (love the Gami circle hooks for channels) and faught and boated a nice 31×16 weighing in at 11-3!

All fish were released and swam away nicely!

Looks like the kittys are going to be alright on the Zum!

Glad to here it didn’t. Looks like the disease mostly got the youngsters and thinned them out, so that is good news for catching big fish like yours n the future.

I don’t think channel cats like to be kissed in the morning!

All kidding aside, what time did you fish?

Funny I didn’t see this post earlier!

Holy Crap Tim! How large was this guy…or is it just the angle of the camera. Nice fish either way and a HOOT I’m sure!

Probably a little of both, but that one was 31×16, and a little over 11lbs according to my buddies scale.

Doesn’t matter much what kind, it’s more about wearing a PFD.

Not many people to help you out there at night especially if your buddy wasn’t wearing one and is floating face down.

I’ll jump off my soap box now.
